In the Genoret Database we call DataFile any type of file containing ... data.

A DataFile can be an image, a MSWord .doc file, a simple plain text file, ...

A DataFile, generally uploaded to the genoret Database by a Genoret User, is well registered in the database. It has 

 a Title
 a Description
 an Owner
 a Visibility Group
 an associated file, stored (somewhere) in the Genoret Database
